Nordic private equity firm Niam has acquired 203 rental apartments in the fast-growing district of Barkarbystaden, located in Järfälla municipality, north of Stockholm.
The property, completed in 2024, offers a lettable area of 13,200 m2 and is located adjacent to the upcoming Barkarby metro station, set to open in 2026.
The acquisition will be finalised in December 2024. Financial details were not disclosed.
'With this acquisition, we are further strengthening our residential portfolio in the Stockholm region. The property features modern, high-tech standards with a strong sustainability profile and benefits from a prime location next to the new metro station, offering seamless commuting options, including to central Stockholm. We are actively expanding our property holdings, both through acquisitions of existing residential buildings and developments in growth areas. Our aim is to meet the increasing demand for high-quality, sustainable housing for a variety of households,' said Henrik Gerdin, fund manager at Niam.
Niam owns or is developing approximately 5,000 residential units across the Nordics.
