Eight property professionals have left the Stockholm office of advisory groups JLL, Colliers, and Nordier to launch a new partner-owned brokerage firm known as Tango.
JLL's regional office and capital markets department in Sweden has been decimated with six experts - Svante Jonsson, Amanda Eriksson, Joachim Pelles, Anna Larsson, Margareta Halvarsson and Richard Bäckman – leaving to join Tango. Another two professionals, namely Colliers' former capital markets head Rebecka Norberg and Christina Ledenvall from Nordier, have also joined.
The team, which has just settled into a new office in Stockholm's CBD, is a full-service house within capital markets, offering brokerage advice for both sales and acquisitions across all asset classes as well as for capital sourcing. The company is backed by venture capital firm Arvid Svensson which has followed the founders for many years.
'We want to be close to the deals but keep the company light and decisive,' commented founder Svante Jonsson. The group plans to double the team over the next 24 months, and is already holding discussions with three other brokers willing to join the firm, he added.
Although currently focused on the Stockholm and Swedish market, Tango has the ambition to expand over time across the Nordic region.
'Developing this company is the journey of a lifetime,' said co-CEOs Rebecka Norberg and Richard Bäckman. 'Sweden, with stable geopolitics and a stable real estate market with high turnover and liquidity, ticks all the boxes for investors,' they added.
Tango has been in business for a week and has already secured a few prominent mandates such as the sale of a 200,000 m2 new city block in a regional city, the disposal of a €200 mln residential portfolio as well as of a nation-wide mixed portfolio worth €282 mln.
