Nordic construction group NCC, in partnership with residential developer Aros Bostad, has won a SEK 300 mln (€25 mln) contract to build 170 apartments in Sweden.
The rental apartments are part of the third phase of the new Invernesshöjden residential block in Danderyd, north of Stockholm, Sweden. They will be distributed over two buildings with 7–14 floors and a basement.
The apartments will be Nordic Swan Ecolabeled and have low energy consumption, thus facilitating low operating and maintenance expenses.
Earthworks are underway and construction will start in November 2023. The first occupancy is slated for 2026.
Magnus Andersson, CEO of Aros Bostad, said: ‘We are continuing this strong partnership with NCC in Invernesshöjden, where we are now constructing 170 rental apartments that will carry the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. Reducing the climate impact through material choices, energy solutions and reuse is a priority in our ambition to reduce our carbon footprint by 25 percent by 2025.’
Henrik Landelius, head of NCC Building Sweden, added: ‘Through the experiences gained from previous phases and a close collaboration with Aros Bostad, architects and design engineers, we have refined both the framework system and design in this phase. We are now looking forward to further developing Invernesshöjden using our collective expertise.’
NCC and Aros Bostad partnered in December 2017 to develop Invernesshöjden in southern Danderyd, a new residential neighborhood with more than 400 apartments.
The first phase, which was completed by NCC in 2021, comprised 86 tenant-owned apartments across two apartment buildings. The second phase kicked off in 2022 and will provide 153 tenant-owned apartments.
