NCC, the Swedish construction and property development company, has announced it is creating a specialist unit to manage residential development.
The new unit, NCC Housing, will start operating on 1 January 2009. It will be led by Peter Wågström, currently president of NCC Property Development.
NCC has managed its residential development through its construction units in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Germany since 2002.
The group’s housing business has grown into one of the largest residential builders in the Nordic region during the strong economic climate in recent years. Concentrating the residential development business in a separate unit is aimed at increasing efficiency. The regional construction units will retain responsibility for building the homes.
