French real estate company Gecina has revealed ex BNP Paribas and AXA professional Nathalie Charles is earmarked as a director if that motion is passed at a general meeting in April next year.

In the meantime, she will be classed as an "observer". She will be part of the Compliance and Ethics Committee according to the board.

Charles is a senior advisor and independent director, having most recently served as deputy CEO and global head of investment management of BNP Paribas Real Estate from 2019 to 2023), overseeing a portfolio with €30 bn of AUM.

Previously, she was head of development and European country teams at AXA IM Real Assets from 2013 to 2019 and Corporate Real Estate Managing Director for the EDF Group from 2008 to 2013.

Before that, she spent 12 years with the Unibail-Rodamco Group (later renamed URW).

The CEO of the Paris-listed REIT is Beñat Ortega who took over the role in April 2022 when the mandate of Meka Brunel expired.

He is a former member of the executive board, chief operating officer and a corporate officer with Klépierre.
