Gatehouse Bank, a Shariah-compliant investment bank, has appointed Natale Giostra as executive vice-president and head of its new real estate finance division.

Gatehouse Bank, a Shariah-compliant investment bank, has appointed Natale Giostra as executive vice-president and head of its new real estate finance division.

Giostra joins from global adviser CBRE where he led the UK debt advisory team. Since January 2010 his team has generated in excess of £2 bn (€1.5 bn) of financing. Giostra was also responsible for co-ordinating and supervising CBRE’s debt advisory teams across EMEA.

In all, he has more than 12 years of experience in real estate banking in the UK, US, Netherlands, Spain and Italy.

Commenting on the move, Giostra said: ‘I’m thrilled to join the team at Gatehouse Bank to set up the much anticipated real estate finance department. I bring with me over a decade of debt origination and syndication experience and am focused on expanding the finance offerings of the bank, seeking opportunities across the UK and the Continent. I look forward to sourcing new financing opportunities and working with strategic partners to further the development of Shariah-compliant products.’

Gatehouse Bank has a global portfolio in excess of $1.5 bn since its inception in 2008, spread across real estate assets, capital investment and term deposits.
