Events organiser Reed Midem has announced that Nadine Castagna, director of Mipim, Mipim Horizons and Mipim Asia, is leaving the company. Her last day with Mipim was 30 June.
Reed Midem did not give a reason for her departure. When contacted by PropertyEU, a spokesperson was not in a position to say who might fill Castagna's position as Mipim director.
But the spokesperson said that responsibility for the Mipim World trade fairs rests with Christophe Chupot, chief financial officer and head of real estate events. Chupot assumed overall executive responsibility for real estate fairs following the retirement of Thierry Renault, deputy managing director of Reed Midem, after the Mipim fair in Cannes in March this year.
Nadine Castagna has spent 19 years working in Reed Midem's real estate division and has managed the Mipim team since 2003 and the Mapic team between 2003 and 2009.
'I am proud to have contributed to the success of Mipim and Mapic which have experienced extraordinary growth since their respective launches,' said Castagna in a short statement about her departure.
The statement did not say whether she was leaving voluntarily or was pushed. The only comment from Reed Midem CEO Paul Zilk was to thank Castagna and wish her well for the future. 'Nadine's enthusiasm, her commercial awareness and her understanding of the property industry, combined with her natural pragmatism, have been of real value to our company and are recognised and appreciated by our clients. We wish her every success in her future professional career'.
