Multi Development Ukraine's flagship Forum Lviv shopping centre has been voted 'Project of the Year' at the 2013 Ukrainian Property Awards.
The honour was awarded at a ceremony in Kiev last Friday, organized by the Ukrainian Real Estate Club to identify the best projects in retail, residential, hotel and office real estate in Ukraine.
Forum Lviv won the judges over with the quality of its architecture, its sustainability, and the fact that the shopping centre is set to make a real contribution to the revival of an historical part of the city of Lviv, the Gouda-based developer said in a press release.
'We see this Project of the Year prize as recognition of Multi’s efforts to create a different kind of retail experience. And this award shows that we can also make difference in Ukraine, too. With exactly a year to go until Forum Lviv opens its doors, this award is a welcome endorsement of the uniqueness of this project, one that we believe will make a real contribution to Ukraine’s retail landscape,' said Gawein Minks, Managing Director of Multi Development Ukraine.
The concept for Forum Lviv was created by T+T Design, Multi’s own design group, acclaimed for its outstanding urban development and architectural concepts. Multi is developing the Forum Lviv shopping centre with local minority partners Galereja-Centre and Budhouse Group. EBRD and Unicredit secured the financing of the project.
Construction is on track and the leasing of retail space in the new centre is well ahead of schedule, the company said.
So far, the Multi team has leased out 80% of the available retail space, and the Forum Lviv brand portfolio already includes the likes of Inditex (Zara, Bershka, Pull&Bear, Stradivarius, Massimo Dutti, Oysho), LPP brands (Reserved, Mohito, Cropp Town, House), Mango, Terranova, Calliope, Amstor, Comfy, L’Etual, Planeta Kino, Igroland, Sportmaster, InCity, as well as other leading national and international brands.
Multi Development Ukraine LCC is part of Multi Corporation, a leading owner, manager and (re)developer of shopping centres across Europe and Turkey. Part of the Blackstone group, Multi has been responsible for more than 180 projects and owns and manages 60 shopping centres.
