Multi Development Spain has announced it will open Espacio Coruña, a three-storey shopping and leisure project, on 20 October 2009. Located in the new residential area of Someso, next to the Elviña and Zapateira University, the 41,000 m[sup]2[/sup] development consists of a Mercadona supermarket, as well as retail units including C&A, Sport Zone, Todo Sport, and Pull & Bear.

The 4,000 m2 leisure and food court area includes a Yelmo Cine Complex with free parking for more than 2,000 cars. Around EUR 120 mln has been invested in the shopping centre.
