Multi Vastgoed, the Dutch arm of Multi Corporation, said on Tuesday that the Boulevard Nesselande mixed-use scheme has opened in Rotterdam. The complex is the first waterside residential, retail and recreational scheme in the Netherlands.

Boulevard Nesselande consists of 10,000 m2 of retail space across over 30 shops and two supermarkets, 464 apartments, a boulevard and an 800-metre sandy beach in a single district. A multi-storey car park offers free parking for 635 cars. The retail element of the scheme was developed by Multi and is owned by Corio.

Major retail tenants include supermarkets Albert Heijn and C1000, and retail chains Blokker, Kruidvat, Hema and Bruna. Architects T+T Design from Gouda provided the concepts for Boulevard Nesselande (shops) and Newport Nesselande (apartments). The Spanish architect Joan Busquets worked out the master plan.
