Multi Turkmall, the Turkish subsidiary of Multi Corporation, has kicked off construction of a new project in Turkey, Forum Gaziantep. This shopping and lifestyle centre is located in the city of Gaziantep in South East Anatolia. The scheme will comprise 44,000 m[sup]2[/sup] of retail area on three floors and is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2009. The scheme, which is being developed for an investment subsidiary of Multi Corporation, will include leisure facilities, a large hypermarket, a DIY, a multiplex cinema, cafes, restaurants, shops, and a closed parking area for 1,500 cars.

Forum Gaziantep is Multi Turkmall’s second project in southeast Anatolia. Last year the company started construction on Forum Diyarbakir, a 55,000 m2 shopping centre due for completion in September 2009. Multi Turkmall is the biggest developer in Turkey, having opened four shopping centres in the last twenty months in Izmir (Forum Bornova), Mersin (Forum Mersin), Denizli (Forum Çamlik) and Trabzon (Forum Trabzon). It has a pipeline of 21 retail projects in progress and under construction.
Managing director of Multi Turkmall, Levent Eyüboglu, said: 'Multi Turkmall is pleased to create new employment opportunities for 1,500 people with Forum Gaziantep. The centre will contribute immensely to the economic and commercial progress of the city.'
