Multi Development has said that Phase 1 of its Forum Liberec shopping centre has opened its doors in the north of Czech Republic. The centre features a modern Tesco department store with a sales area of 10,000 m2, 60 other shops and around 850 parking places. Phase 1 also includes 2,800 m[sup]2[/sup] of class A office space and 14 rental apartments, Multi added.

Multi Development has said that Phase 1 of its Forum Liberec shopping centre has opened its doors in the north of Czech Republic. The centre features a modern Tesco department store with a sales area of 10,000 m2, 60 other shops and around 850 parking places. Phase 1 also includes 2,800 m2 of class A office space and 14 rental apartments, Multi added.

During the opening days more than 150,000 people visited the centre, which was developed by a 50/50 joint venture between Tesco and Multi Development. Financing for the development of the centre was provided by Hypo Real Estate for an amount of EUR 87 mln. The centre has a catchment area of 450,000 people.

Phase II of Forum Liberec is due to open in the autumn of 2010. It will extend the shopping centre by another 80 shops with fashion brands such as H&M, C&A, Promod, Reserved, Monton, Celio and Esprit. In Phase II, the foodcourt will also be extended with various extra new outlets and there will be a new multiplex cinema.
