Dutch shopping centre developer Multi Vastgoed announced on Monday the start of construction for its Eemplein mixed-use project in Amersfoort, The Netherlands. The project entails the development of a town square with shopping, leisure and cultural facilities, including a Pathé cinema with eight screens and a music venue.

The project entails the development of a town square with shopping, leisure and cultural facilities, including a Pathé cinema with eight screens and a music venue.

Retailer Albert Heijn, Media Markt, Blokker and Xenos will anchor the commercial part, which is owned by Green Real Estate. The project also envisages the development of residential and office facilities as well as a garage with 750 parking spaces owned by Park King. Architects Bolles + Wilson created the concept in collaboration with T+T Design, Multi's in-house architectural design team.

The total investment is estimated to amount to around EUR 130 mln.
