Blackstone's European retail property platform Multi Corporation has announced the hire of ECE's Turkish head Pinar Yalçinkaya Hacaoglu as new CEO in the country.

Yalçinkaya Hacaoglu, who will assume the new post on 1 September, succeeds Patrick van Dooyeweert, who has been managing director since 2014, and will now be able to fully focus on his responsibilities as chief development officer and chief investment officer of Multi Corporation.

Yalçinkaya Hacaoglu has over 19 years’ experience in leasing, asset management and shopping centre management, acquisition, development and redevelopment. In 2016 she joined ECE Turkey where she held several positions and was appointed CEO in 2017.

In addition, Multi promoted senior director asset management Antoine Mocachen as new Chief Operational Officer in the country while Lucien Smits was appointed Chief Financial Officer in the country, succeeding Michiel Wolters, who will replace her as financial director of Multi Ireland.

Mocachen has over 20 years’ experience in real estate development, asset management and property management in the shopping centre industry in the CEE region and Turkey for major players including the Simon Property Group. He joined Multi in 2017.

Multi’s Turkish portfolio comprises of 14 shopping centres. It is the country’s largest retail platform, with 925,000 m2 of gross lettable space and over 2,100 tenants. Multi Turkey’s flagship shopping centres include Forum Istanbul and Marmara Forum in Istanbul, plus Gordion and Forum Ankara Outlet in Ankara.
