Forum Duisburg consists of separate buildings connected by a glass-roofed circular mall. The scheme is the first retail project in mainland Europe to be awarded a BREEAM Environmental Assessment Award Certificate.
Multi Development has spent three years to plan and develop the centre which costed about EUR 190 mln. The entire new development has an area of 106,000 m2 and offers 1,200 parking spaces, a children's centre incorporated into the shopping centre and 90 retail outlets on four levels. Its main tenants include Karstadt (19,500 m2), Saturn (8,000 m2), C&A (5,000 m2), New Yorker (1,900 m2), and H&M (2,500 m2).
