Multi, Corio's Spijkenisse project opens its doors

Multi Development and Corio announced completion on Tuesday of a city centre regeneration project in the Dutch town of Spijkenisse after 10 years of construction work.

The development involved the construction of a new City Square (Stadsplein), the reopening of shopping mall De Kopspijker and the creation of a new theater in the center of Spijkenisse. Developed by Multi, the Stadsplein forms a new entrance to the city and comprises 12,500 m² of shops, a Supercoop supermarket, restaurants, 154 apartments, a plaza and two new parking garages with 1,100 parking spaces.

The Kopspijker shopping mall - owned and developed by Corio - offers 28 shops over 5,500 m².

The municipality of Spijkenisse is responsible for the new public space, including the new Theater Square which is under construction. The theater will have two halls totalling 850 seats.
