MPA Newday has acquired the Ibis Hotel in Amsterdam for €67 mln from Dutch based Basisfonds Stationslocaties.
The transaction is the second sale for Basisfonds Stationslocaties this month, after the previously announced sale of office buildings de Inkpot and Tulpenburgh in Utrecht to ProRail.
The Ibis hotel, located directly next to Amsterdam's Central Railway Station, has 363 rooms and has a long-term lease agreement with Accor Hotels. The hotel comprises approximately 8,856 m2 and is situated on leasehold ground.
The sale is part of the disposition strategy of Basisfonds Stationslocaties, a real estate fund that primarily invests in commuter hubs. The remaining portfolio Transit 2.0 of Basisfonds Stationslocaties consists of 15 office buildings located near railway stations throughout the Netherlands. Cushman & Wakefield has the exclusive sales mandate for the Transit 2.0 portfolio.
C&W and legal firm Houthoff Buruma acted on behalf of the vendor. Wieringa Advocaten advised the investor in this acquisition.
