Industrial and logistics developer Mountpark said it has started construction work on a 26,000 m2 speculative warehouse development in Slovakia.
The distribution centre, which has the potential to create over 300 jobs for local people, is located in Montpark Sered, within easy reach of Bratislava, Trnava and other manufacturing centres in Slovakia. It is aiming for BREEAM ‘very good’ accreditation and is on schedule to complete in the first quarter of 2021.
Mountpark Sered has already attracted e-commerce giant Amazon, which operates a 60,000 m2 purpose-built reverse logistics centre on the site. In addition, Mountpark has building permits in place for a further 125,000 m2 of flexible accommodation, all of which can be delivered within 12 months of starting on site.
'There is growing demand for modern logistics space in Western Slovakia and we are delighted that we can offer this new building, which will complete early next year,' said Mario Sander, managing director of Central Europe at Mountpark.
Mountpark Logistics EU Sarl is a joint venture between USAA Realco-Europe Holdco BV, the Dutch subsidiary of USAA Real Estate, and Mountpark Finco Sarl. The venture develops logistics facilities across Europe, with a particular focus on the UK and Western and Central European markets.
