Some 2,400 retail brand representatives are expected to attend the Mapic retail property trade fair in Cannes this year, up from nearly 2,300 last year.

Newcomers include UK coffee chain Costa, US giant Dairy Queen as well as fashion brands Calvin Klein Jeans, Baby Gap and Gap Kids.

Companies specialising in mobile phone accessories such as The Kase (France) and Cellairis will also be attending for the first time, reflecting the strong growth in global smart phone sales. Retailers offering additional activities in their stores such as Best4youkids (Poland), a children’s play concept that offers obstacle courses and creative activities, and Delice Delikatessen (Germany), a concept store that offers delicatessen fare and cookery workshops, will also showcase their activities.

Organised by Reed Midem, Mapic will be held from 14 to 16 November.
