Spanish logistics specialist Montepino has announced plans to invest around €27 mln in the development of a new build-to-suit project in Marchamalo, north of Madrid.
Montepino has mandated GSE España to build the 37,000 m2 warehouse which is due for delivery in the first quarter of 2021.
The platform is being built in the Puerta Centro – Ciudad del Transporte industrial estate, one of the most important logistical areas in the country. It is targeting Leed Silver certification.
‘Our portfolio will continue to grow in 2020 and 2021, and we will consolidate our position as the market leader on a national level,’ said Juan José Vera, managing director of Montepino.
Montepino is one of the largest logistics developers specialising in built-to-suit (BTS) projects in Spain, and one of the 10 largest in Europe. In just six years, it has developed over a million m2 of Gross Leasable Area (GLA), and by the end of 2021, its portfolio will encompass 23 properties with a total value of nearly €1 bn.
