Spanish logistics vehicle Montepino Logistica, managed by Valfondo, has laid the first stone of its logistics project at the El Ruiseñor industrial estate.
The scheme will be developed on a 225,800 m2 plot, with a total investment of €100 mln.
The event was attended by the minister of economy, business and employment of Castilla-La Mancha, Patricia Franco, the mayor of Guadalajara, Alberto Rojo, and the general director of Valfondo and director of Montepino, Juan José Vera.
The first phase of the project, which occupies 79,738 m2 of land, involves the construction of a total area of 42,605 m2. This big box platform with offices and services will be finished by mid 2024, and involves an investment of €33.5 mln.
A perimeter road is being constructed around this for the circulation of heavy vehicles and for the loading and unloading process, which will have 70 docks located on both longitudinal façades of the platform.
A parking area with 280 vehicle spaces will be built next to the access control building of the complex.
An adjacent logistics building of 88,500 m2 of GLA is also planned, which is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2025.
The new logistics buildings will follow the firm's sustainable principles in seeking LEED certification, targeting Gold as a minimum.
Aspects will include the generation of renewable energy through photovoltaic panels and the use of materials with a lower environmental impact in construction. In addition, some 130 native trees will be planted, creating a welcoming environment.
Significant amounts of natural light and high indoor air quality will also be addressed.
Under this premise, Monepino reinforces its commitment to the application of ESG policies and its commitment to the SDGs.
