Swedish listed property company Peab has been commissioned by Malmö's largest real estate company MKB Fastighets to build 264 rental apartments and six other premises.
The contract for the residential complex in Kirseberg, Malmö is worth SEK 408 mln (€35 mln).
The Skjutskontoret quarter will consist of three buildings with varying heights of six to eight stories. It will include a total of 264 rental apartments, as well as six other premises, such as commercial space or storage units.
Amenities include a private bicycle garage, lockable charging cabinets for bicycle batteries and a bicycle service station, an extended bicycle pool and car pool, as well as refrigerated boxes for home delivery of food.
Peter Lindstedt, region manager Peab, commented: ‘We’re proud to be able to contribute together with MKB to more homes for Malmö residents. This is a good example of our locally produced community building.’
Christina Lundby, new production manager at MKB, added: ‘It is gratifying that we can continue to build in these tough times.’
The project is a turnkey contract in partnership, which means that Peab is responsible for all aspects of the project, from design to construction to completion.
Construction will begin in Q1 2024 and is expected to be completed in Q2, with planned occupancy in the period 2026-2027.
Several public transport options are available, including Östervärn station (train), Värnhemstorget (buses) and the planned express bus line between Limhamn and Segevång.
This year, MKB has started construction on 40 homes in Hyllie (Badskon), 189 homes in Södra Nyhamnen (MKB Nyhamnen), and 27 homes in the Bohus neighborhood at Dalaplan. This brings the total number of homes currently under construction by MKB to around 1,000.
