Iwama takes the reins in May 2024, succeeding Tomoo Nakamura who returns to Mitsui Fudosan's Tokyo headquarters after a successful four-year stint leading the UK and European operations.

Iwama brings nearly 30 years of global real estate expertise to the table.  He started with Mitsui Fudosan in 1996 and most recently served as head of Strategy Planning in the International Division.

Iwama boasts experience across both commercial and residential real estate in Japan.  He also held leadership positions at Mitsui Fudosan America, including managing director of Acquisitions, and in the International Department overseeing UK and US interests.

Leveraging his extensive background, Iwama will focus on strengthening existing UK partnerships with companies like Stanhope, Grosvenor, and Edge.  He will also aim to expand Mitsui Fudosan's investments within the UK and explore new opportunities across Europe.

Takeshi Iwama said: ‘This is a really exciting time to be heading up Mitsui Fudosan UK with a number of key, high profile development opportunities underway in London.’

Tomoo Nakamura added: ‘I have enjoyed the opportunity to lead Mitsui Fudosan UK and grow the range and scale of our operations in London over the past four years.’
