Japanese developer and investor Mitsui Fudosan has appointed Tomoo Nakamura as managing director, effective from 1 June.
Nakamura succeeds Eiichiro Onozawa, who is returning to Mitsui Fudosan’s Tokyo business, following four years managing and growing the property company’s UK and European arm.
Nakamura, who joined Mitsui Fudosan in 1993, has held a range of positions includng heading up its Asia Pacific business in Tokyo, working as deputy managing director of Mitsui Fudosan (Asia) and acting as managing director of the company’s Thailand operations.
Nakamura will be tasked with working closely with Stanhope, in which Mitsui Fudosan UK holds a stake, to further expand the business's portfolio in Europe.
The firm has recently delivered landmark projects in London including the transformation of Television Centre from the BBC’s former home into a residential and leisure destination, and the re-imagining of White City Place into a business hub. The completion of 1 Angel Court created a new, mixed-use office development in the City of London.

Mitsui Fudosan UK has also announced that it is moving its London office to Cassini House at 57-58 St James's Street, London later this month.
