To mark MIPIM 2016, BNP Paribas Real Estate is sponsoring the MIPIM startup competition. Six international start-ups will present their innovative solutions designed for the real estate sector and urban management.

BNP Paribas Real Estate says it is making a contribution and commitment to the development of the real estate services of the future by supporting these innovative companies working in smart homes, smart buildings and related sectors.

After entering the competition, startups had to pass through three selection stages: at MIPIM UK, London on 22 October 2015, at MIPIM Asia, Hong Kong, on 2 December 2015, and at MIPIM in Cannes on 15 March 2016.

The final will take place on 17 March in Cannes at the MIPIM Property Tech Day, when the six startups will present their projects to an international panel of judges. These will include four professionals from the real estate sector, including Laurent Pavillon, global head of business marketing and communications at BNP Paribas Real Estate.

'BNP Paribas Real Estate is a leader in corporate real estate services and is an enthusiastic and passionate supporter of innovative young startups in smart buildings, smart homes and real estate data,' Pavillon said. 'With a strong focus on experience and meeting client expectations, these ambitious young companies are rewarding and stimulating partners for our teams and our future projects. In our eyes, this ecosystem perfectly illustrates all the promise of real estate for a changing world.'
