Poland and the rest of CEE are gaining traction as a mature region for international business services providers and real estate investors, a panel hosted by PropertyEU and its CEE partner Poland Today concluded at Mipim on Wednesday.
'The quality of tenants and the level of services and amenities offered is high,' commented Jeroen van der Toolen, managing director of Belgian-based developer Ghelamco. Warsaw may have a relatively high vacancy rate of 15% but demand for high-quality offices is strong, he added. 'The vacancy rate for this type of assets is much lower.'
Regional cities like Poznan are also growing in importance as centres for this business sector, Kataryzna Zawodna, president of Skanska Commercial Development Europe, said.
A sign of the maturity of the region is that the Warsaw Spire, a project developed by Ghelamco in Warsaw, is one of the contenders for the Mipim Awards which will be announced on Thursday evening at Mipim. This is the first time a Polish office project has been nominated for the awards.
