Mipim 2021 has been moved from June to September due to continuing health and safety concerns, the organisers announced on Thursday.
The international property trade show was to have been held in Cannes from 7-10 June but has now been rescheduled to 7-8 September as a hybrid event.
‘Your health and safety, and that of all Mipim participants, is always our top priority,’ the organizers said. ‘Despite signs of improvements in the pandemic situation, it is not possible to hold Mipim in Cannes this June, as we had hoped to do.’
Mipim September Edition will be held in Cannes as a smaller hybrid event, with business meetings, exhibition space, conferences, awards and networking opportunities enhanced online via the Mipim digital platform. Then in 2022, Mipim plans to return to its traditional dates, running from 15-18 March on the Cote d’Azur.
The announcement comes as Mipim is due to hold its digital Leaders’ Perspectives Summit by MIPIM on 16-18 March.
‘We are extremely grateful for the support that you and your international counterparts have expressed to us during Covid-19 and we particularly thank you for your patience,’ wrote in an email to prospective exhibitors and visitors Ronan Vaspart, director of Mipim.
Mipim was the first major property trade fair to be cancelled last March when the Covid-19 disease started to spread. Attempts to reschedule the March conference to June 2020 fell through shortly thereafter, and a scaled-down version of the event was eventually held in Paris in September.
