Mipim organiser Reed Midem has decided to move back the dates of the 2021 edition to June 7-10 in response to clients' concerns over Covid-19.
Reed Midem said that after initially setting the dates for March 16-19 it has received requests to postpone the event to a later date which might provide more visibility on travel restrictions and quarantine rules connected to the Covid-19 pandemic. ‘This has encouraged us to bring the international real estate community together later in the year,’ Reed Midem said.
‘We understand that for you and your international counterparts, attending Mipim requires lots of forward planning. In a world where it is difficult to assess where we will be regarding Coronavirus in the days, weeks or even months to come, we are doing our best to anticipate developments and provide solutions that meet your needs and concerns,’ it added.
Mipim was the first major property trade fair to be cancelled last March when the Covid-19 disease started to spread. Attempts to reschedule the March conference to June 2020 fell through shortly thereafter, and a scaled-down version of the event was eventually held in Paris in September.
