Mipim Horizons 2008, the first edition of the property fair in Cannes on the French Riviera dedicated to the world's fast-growing regions, has announced it is 'going green'. The fair is being held from 2-4 December and will feature conferences and events on green architecture, construction and housing and many efforts to reduce waste and carbon emissions.

Reed MIDEM, the organiser of the fair, has already made sustainability a central theme in its other real estate fairs, Mipim, Mapic and Mipim Asia.

A key event at the inaugural Mipim Horizons will be the Leadership Summit on 3 December entitled 'Facing sustainable challenges: when politicians and real estate leaders shape the future.' The closed-door session will focus on the challenges to be faced by the world's fast-growing regions for successful real estate development. Top-level political leaders, investors, developers and environmental experts will gather around six round tables to exchange best practices and solutions on sustainable issues for the real estate market.
