Builder Miller Developments and private equity firm Bridgehouse Capital are planning to develop a 50-storey skyscraper that at its 150 metres would be the tallest scheme in the city of Birmingham. Designed by architect Eric Kunhe, the mixed-use tower will feature a V-shaped roof and will cost about £ 150 mln (EUR 222 mln). Developers are now seeking planning permission for the structure, which is expected to be completed by 2012. It will comprise some 700 flats, together with bars and restaurants.

Newspaper Financial Times reported that high-rise projects in the city are being revived after being put on ice by developers amid concerns of terrorist attacks following the September 11 attacks in the US. The paper added that the two partners are planning to invest a further £ 400 mln in Birmingham to redevelop other buildings in the Arena Central area.
