The head of portfolio management at Mileway has joined Pure Data Centres Group.

Marco Fok has become senior director, investments and portfolio management at the London-headquartered company, which is 85% owned by Oaktree Capital Management.

Fok spent four years at Mileway and was previously at Lendlease. He told contacts: ‘I am excited to announce my next chapter. I am immensely grateful for the collaboration, success, and friendships cultivated at Mileway and Blackstone during this transformational period.’

‘I look forward to capitalizing on the significant demand and investment conviction in the sector to drive growth in the digital infrastructure and data centre space, working alongside the outstanding teams at Pure and Oaktree Capital Management.’

Other real estate industry figures at Pure include Simon Berrill, executive chairman. He was formerly senior managing director at Macquarie Capital. Dawn Childs in CEO having served as change director for the UK’s National Grid.

Chief investment officer is Bill Davis, who was previously a managing director and the Global Head of Data Centre Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs before joining Pure in 2020.

The company is targeting a multi-region hyperscale development growth strategy.

In December, Blackstone refinanced its Mileway platform with €7.5 bn of debt from new and existing lenders.

In September, it was announced CEO Emmanuel Van der Stichele would step down having been CEO since inception of the business in 2019. Timothy (Tim) Beaudin took over having most recently served as chairman of P3 Logistic Parks.
