Dutch historical buildings specialist the MeyerBergman Heritage Group (MBE) has appointed Mark de Kruijk as general manager.
According to the firm, the appointment and the departure of De Kruijk's predecessor, Peter Mulder, is in line with the strategy to phase out its real estate development arm.
The MBE Group said it intended to focus even more on the heritage expertise of the organisation, namely repurposing, concept development, design and operation.
De Kruijk has been active in the cultural and heritage sector for many years, most recently as director of special projects at Amerborgh. In the past, he worked as a director for MBE.
Said Ton Meijer, co-owner of MBE: 'With Mark de Kruijk we have a well-known and driven colleague who has earned his spurs in the world of heritage repurposing and exploitation.
'His appointment is in line with our ambition to phase out our real estate development activities and to focus more on concept development, advice and design of heritage. In addition, we will remain the owner and investor of monumental heritage, including our current heritage pearls Paleis Soestdijk and Buitenplaats Doornburgh.'
De Kruijk added: 'MBE Group has convincingly proven successful in bringing iconic projects to life. I am therefore looking forward to working with the MBE Group team on existing and new special heritage projects.'
