Alternative investment manager Meridia Capital Partners has closed the acquisition of Nestlé’s Spanish headquarters.

The investment volume was not disclosed.

Located at Esplugues de Llobregat in Barcelona, the complex includes five buildings, including two office blocks, with a total built area of 49,000 m2 and 579 parking spaces.

The five buildings are currently leased to Swiss food and beverage company Nestlé. The largest office building is Nestlé headquarters in Spain. The second office building, which is currently vacant, will be partly occupied by the Swiss multinational and third parties.

The other three assets are a convention centre, a showroom and a building with a restaurant, cafeteria and a bank branch. Meridia Capital will carry out a capital expenditure programme to further improve the facilities.

Javier Faus, founder and CEO of Barcelona-based Meridia, said, 'There are still highly attractive opportunities in the Spanish real estate market, which we will continue seizing in the future through our new real estate vehicle, Meridia III.'

Meridia Capital was advised on this deal by Uría Menéndez, CBRE, Deerns and GCA.
