Spanish retail group Mercadona is planning to sell a portfolio of 36 supermarkets across the country as part of plans to focus on its core retail business.
The group plans to lease back the assets under short term rental agreements as part of the transaction.
The properties are located all over Spain and are expected to fetch around €200 mln in total.
Founded in 1977 by the Cárnicas Roig Group, Valencia-based Mercadona currently operates 1,634 stores across Spain and 10 in Portugal.
