A memorial service will be held in London on Monday 10 December to honour Alp Alkas of Jones Lang LaSalle and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). The service takes place at St Georges Church, St Georges Street, W1S 1FX at noon.
Everyone is invited to come and join his family, friends and colleagues to remember Alp.
Alp passed away suddenly at his home in London on 3 November.
He joined Jones Lang LaSalle in 2008. For the last two years he was part of the Jones Lang LaSalle European Retail Capital Markets team, advising investors on a variety of retail transactions. Prior to this he worked in the Jones Lang LaSalle European Retail Agency team with international retailers. He was the younger son of Avi Alkas, chairman of Jones Lang LaSalle Turkey.
Alp was a member of the ICSC Next Generation European Advisory Group, and one of the youngest ever ICSC Certified Marketing Directors (CMD) and Shopping Center Managers (CSM).
The ICSC has decided to recognise his contribution and legacy to the organisation and the retail real estate industry in general by establishing the Alp Alkas ICSC Foundation Scholarship Fund.
The fund will engage and train new talent and reflect the dynamism and passion that Alp demonstrated throughout his career, the ICSC said.
