McArthurGlen Group, the European owner, developer and manager of designer outlets, has promoted Michael Natas.

As MD of development, he reports to co-CEO Joan Jove, taking on sole responsibility for the asset development programme at the firm's 25 designer outlets in Europe and Canada.

The company revealed it had a development pipeline set to deliver nearly 50,000 m2 of additional lettable space in the coming years.

Significant expansion plans include in Malaga, Spain, plus Vancouver and Birmingham.

Natas began his career at McArthurGlen in 2005 as development manager before eventually becoming joint MD for Development in 2017. During his career, the company has grown its retail space by more than double, from 300,000 m2 to 685,000 m2.

Meanwhile, the group’s joint MD for development, Gary Bond, will become executive development advisor. 

In April this year, the firm opened Designer Outlet Paris-Giverny, its forth asset in France.

In 2013, McArthurGlen became a JV between the Kaempfer Partners and Simon Property Group.
