UK investment manager Mayfair Capital has appointed Schroders' former head of property investment Gill Roantree to the post of Chief Operating Officer, a newly-created position to support the firm’s growth strategy.

As COO, Roantree’s role will encompass fund and corporate responsibilities including finance, compliance, fund accounting and fund structuring.

Roantree has substantial experience in the funds industry, having worked in the sector for more than 25 years, with experience gained at Clerical Medical, Royal Bank of Canada, M&G and Allied Irish Bank.

Prior to joining Mayfair Capital, Roantree spent more than 11 years with Schroder Property, joining them in 2002 to set up the operational arm of the property business in Jersey, where she progressed to COO. In 2010 she relocated to London and took on the role of head of property investment support, with responsibility for the management, and oversight, of fund and corporate services for Schroders’ pan-European property business.

This new hire follows last month’s appointment of William Hill, the former head of property at Schroders, as a non-executive director.

Mayfair Capital is an independent, owner-managed, UK real estate investment management business.
