Italian construction company Astaldi and Germany's Max Bogl have been awarded an EUR 120 mln contract to modernise and expand capacity at the 'Lia Manoliu' stadium in Bucharest, Romania. Astaldi said that work on the project is slated to begin in the second quarter of 2007 and is expected to last for 20 months.

Astaldi said that work on the project is slated to begin in the second quarter of 2007 and is expected to last for 20 months.
Max Bogl has a 60% share of the contract, or EUR 72 mln while Astaldi’s portion of the project is worth EUR 48 mln. Astaldi noted that it has been present in Romania for the last twenty years. With the latest deal, the Rome-based Astaldi said that its portfolio of projects in that country now exceeds EUR 500 mln.
