Fabrix is a real estate investment firm that says it is pioneering a flexible model of urban investment and development.

Nichol began the firm after working at various real estate companies. Formerly he was an office agency and investment professional at CBRE in Shanghai for four months in 2007, before working as an asset manager at Telereal Trillium, then a fund manager at Canada Life, before becoming a director at Avignon Capital.

He said, ‘At Fabrix, we have always been dedicated to innovation. Key to our approach is creating future-proof products that exceed current environmental and social benchmarks to meet occupiers’ science-based targets for net zero.’

Addressing the hire of the Blackstone principal, he added: ‘Nicholas’s appointment as chief investment officer will help expand our institutional investment partner base and strengthen the Fabrix proposition as a leading owner operator.’

Other recent hires include Richard Elliott, the former head of construction at British Land, alongside those  from Land Securities, Derwent London and New London Architecture.

Fabrix is managing projects such as Atellier Gardens in Berlin, the transformation of one of the oldest film studios in Europe into a campus for global impact-led organisations.

As partner and CIO, Schiloff is tasked with overseeing Fabrix’s investment and asset management activities, as well as raising and structuring equity and debt.

Prior to Blackstone, he worked at Mount Kellett and Goldman Sachs.
