Orco said the site is one of the last remaining properties in the heart of Berlin still to be built on. Fifty-five percent of the development is earmarked for shopping and entertainment purposes while 30% is residential and the remaining 15% is office spaces. The development will also have 760 parking spaces. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2009 and is planned to be completed in mid-2012. Now that the master plan competition has been completed, Orco noted more specific development plans can now go forward.
