Marc Simon, real estate and facilities director at Dassault Systèmes, has been confirmed as the new president of CoreNet Global in France.

CoreNet Global’s France Networking Group is part of the international association of corporate real estate executives serving end-users and service providers.

Simon succeeds Michel Rousseau, who has acted as president since the French networking group was formed in 2011. Rousseau will continue his involvement in a new position as board member.

A total of 10 new board appointments have been made as part of a move to build CoreNet Global’s presence in France and reach an even wider group of real estate professionals, including among non-members.

Internationalisation
'In the recent past we have seen companies in France becoming more and more international in their focus. The board at the France Networking Group is convinced of the strategic role that real estate leaders can play in this context, supporting the growth of their organisations,' Simon said.

'Real estate leaders are responsible for a critical aspect of a corporation that creates the initial and lasting impression and determines the experience, of employees, visitors, partners and customers. The physical real estate is an important factor in influencing the extent to which they will actively engage with the company itself,' he said.

'In this context, our vision is to create a strong chapter in France, enabling our peers to fully engage with the more than 9,500 members’ worldwide, share best practices with colleagues internationally and in France, and assist real estate professionals who are looking to develop their careers internationally. This is an opportunity to showcase French expertise, reinforce French leadership internationally and celebrate the creativity, innovation and dynamism of our members.'

The France Networking Group will hold its next event on 9 December 2015, marking the debut of the new president and board.
