European retail property group Neinver is showcasing three new projects totalling 62,500 m2 in Germany, Spain and the Netherlands, plus 3,200 m2 of extensions to existing centres during the Mapic fair in Cannes.
Neinver currently manages 565,100 m2 of retail space and is developing another 68,700 m2 of GLA. The centres showcased at Mapic will operate under The Style Outlets brand.
Neinver said it remains committed to its strategy of internationalisation by entering new markets such as the Netherlands (Amsterdam The Style Outlets), developing new properties in markets where it already operates (Viladecans The Style Outlets in Spain and Werl The Style Outlets in Germany) and expanding existing properties such as Factory Warsaw Ursus.
'In the last five years, Neinver has added more than 300,000 m2 of GLA to its portfolio and entered three new European markets (Germany, France and the Netherlands). This sustained growth based on experience and specialisation has made it possible to position the company as a benchmark operator and as a strategic partner for developing and managing assets in the retail market,' said Bárbara Topolska, Neinver’s chief operations officer.
PROJECTS
Viladecans The Style Outlets marks Neinver’s entry into Catalonia and will be developed in two phases. Construction of the 19,800 m2 first phase will start in 2015, and will include 104 stores and 1,400 parking spaces. Work has already begun to create and improve the infrastructure accompanying the centre, which is scheduled to open in 2016.
Neinver has entered the Dutch market, its seventh European country, with the development of Amsterdam The Style Outlets, an outlet centre with 18,000 m2 of retail space, 115 stores, and another 1,000 m2 for food service. Amsterdam The Style Outlets involves renovating a former industrial zone called 'Sugar City' into a modern retail complex. The design is based on traditional Dutch architecture. Construction will start in 2015 and the centre is scheduled to open in 2017.
In the German town of Werl, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Neinver is planning an outlet shopping village with 17,000 m2 of retail space with room for 80 to 100 stores and 1,400 parking spaces. Its design is based on traditional architectural elements but with a modern, cutting-edge style, Neinver said.
