Resolution Property has announced plans to start expansion work at Galeria Pomorska shopping centre in Bydgoszcz, Poland, early next year.
Galeria Pomorska, which first opened in 2003, comprises 29,950 m2 of floor space and contains over 100 outlets including a hypermarket. Resolution Property's plans will see the centre expand to provide over 43,000 m2 of space, which will have the ability to accommodate 130 retail outlets.
The extension will be built on part of the existing car park and will link directly into the existing centre. Subject to obtaining all the necessary permits, Resolution Property plans to start construction of the extension in mid-2013 with completion envisaged for late 2014. The company has also held negotiations with retailers to anchor the extension. Commercial terms have been agreed for 40% of the extension's gross leasable area.
The announcement to expand the centre follows the completion of a new multiplex cinema unit for Kino Helios, which is expected to open in December this year, and was part of a wider EUR 4 mln investment by Resolution Property to secure Kino Helios to replace the former first floor bowling centre and wider improvements to the centre.
