Mapic Italy, dedicated to Italian retail, and The Happetite, Reed Midem's trade show for the Food & Beverage (F&B) sector, both due to take place 1-2 July in Milan, have been cancelled.
The events, which had been moved from their previous dates of 28-29 April due to the coronavirus pandemic, will next be scheduled for 2021.
Organisers Reed Midem said the events were 'cancelled due to ongoing concerns related to Covid-19'.
In a statement, the firm added: 'Despite the recent easing of the lockdown in Italy, there are still on-going restrictions for organized events and so we do not believe that the conditions exist to deliver an optimal business environment for our Mapic Italy and The Happetite participants in July. Health and safety of our clients and our staff is an absolute priority for us and we will not compromise when it comes to it.'
The Happetite, previously known as Mapic Food, was rebranded earlier this year to distinguish it from other Mapic-branded events. It targets real estate investors, franchise operators and restaurant chains intent on expanding in the F&B trade.
Reed Midem said that it was creating additional content dedicated to the F&B sector for the main Mapic event, still scheduled to take place in Cannes 17-19 November.
In the meantime, the trade fair organisers have revealed plans for Paris Real Estate Week, an expanded programme of events around its proptech show, Propel by Mipim, taking place in Paris in September.
