M&G Real Estate – part of M&G’s £65 bn private assets and alternatives division – has made a strategic appointment to its residential team with the arrival of Teresa Cheng as investment manager.
Her arrival follows the promotions of Freddie Wonnacott and Chris Jeffs to Assistant Fund manager for the M&G UK Residential Property Fund the M&G Shared Ownership Fund respectively. All three report to Alex Greaves, head of UK & European Living.
Cheng joins M&G from Savills Corporate Finance team where she gained transactional experience in senior living, student accommodation, co-living, affordable housing, and build to rent (BTR), as well as the office and logistics sectors. In previous roles she covered co-living investment and asset management in the UK, and financial advisory and private equity in China. In her new role she will be focused on the student accommodation, BTR and senior living sectors in the UK.
M&G’s residential team now counts 13 professionals and it has recently widened its investment approach to deliver housing for people at all stages in life to now include student accommodation and senior living.
