Malcolm Hollis already has 18 offices across the UK, Ireland and Spain, and now plans to establish a presence in the Netherlands in the next couple of months followed by a team in Poland, Germany, France and Sweden. The expansion drive is being led by partners Jamie O’Brien and Chris Sullivan, who were also behind the opening in September 2015 of an office in Madrid which now counts a staff of six people.

‘We are the largest independent building consultancy in the UK so this expansion is a natural progression for the business,’ commented Jamie O’Brien. ‘This strategy is being driven by the demand of our clients, who are increasingly asking us to accompany them in their European ventures, but also by the development of the International Property Measurement Standard (IPMS), which will allow our clients to benchmark their property performance on a global scale.’

The company is in the final stages of opening an office in Amsterdam with an initial local staff of two people. ‘Our clients tell us they are particularly keen on an anglicised style of reporting with first-class tailored local market knowledge and they want us to provide the same products throughout Europe as we do in the UK.’ he added.

Poland is expected to follow suit, with Malcolm Hollis close to receiving a major instruction from an existing UK client moving into this market. ‘We suspect that 40-50% of our turnover will initially be generated by our UK-based clients with whom we already have a relationship,’ added O’Brien.

Malcolm Hollis is an independent chartered surveying practice offering expert technical property advice and construction project management services. Around 90% of the company's client base is private sector and its established services lines include project management, dilapidations, technical due diligence and monitoring and evaluation (M&E).
