The former head office of Spanish telecommunications firm Telefonica at Avenida de Roma in Barcelona is being put up for sale at an asking price of €56 mln following a local court decision.

The former head office of Spanish telecommunications firm Telefonica at Avenida de Roma in Barcelona is being put up for sale at an asking price of €56 mln following a local court decision.

The asset was formerly owned by Cerep Investment, a unit of The Carlyle Group which is currently in liquidation.

According to Spanish press reports, the building was sold by Telefonica to Cerep in 2007 for as much as €235 mln.

The sale of the asset, which is currently vacant, is aimed at repaying Cerep's creditors.
