US private equity firm Madison International Realty has appointed Andrew Schaffler to the newly created position of overseeing investment in listed real estate securities.

US private equity firm Madison International Realty has appointed Andrew Schaffler to the newly created position of overseeing investment in listed real estate securities.

Based in Madison’s New York office, Schaffler will oversee all aspects of the firm’s public markets investing activities.

'Andrew brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and industry contacts in the global real estate securities sector that will be of great benefit as we further institutionalise our public markets investment activities,' said Ronald M. Dickerman, Madison founder and president.

Schaffler joins Madison from Cohen & Steers Capital Management, where he spent nine years on the portfolio management team, including five years on a long/short real estate hedge fund. Previously, he served as an analyst in the fund portfolio analytics group of Neuberger Berman.
