Macquarie Asset Management has appointed Melanie Schumann as a managing director and senior transactions and funds lawyer to support its core/core-plus real estate business.
Based in Munich, Schumann will manage key legal aspects of acquisitions and divestments, financings, fund and
investment structuring and capital raising, as well as regulatory matters.
Working as part of a global team, she will also support the business as it delivers new product initiatives.
Schumann joins Macquarie Asset Management following a decade long career at UBS Asset Management where she was
most recently a senior legal counsel for its real estate and private markets business.
Prior to this, Schumann was an associate Lawyer in the real estate sector for leading German and international law firms, including Linklaters and Paul Hastings.
