Macintosh closes 80 stores in the Netherlands

UK-based Macintosh closes 110 stores in Europe as ecommerce bites

In the Netherlands, the company is planning to scrap 10 of its 100 Kwantum stores. Other cuts involve branches of shoe stores Scapino, Dolic and Manfield.

Closures will be led by profitability levels and the expected impact of internet sales, a company spokesman said.

Macintosh is generating good results from its internet sales and cross-channel marketing.
